what up! I'm Erin Wilbert DeCuir, Louisiana native and current Colorado resident.
howdy, friend!
I'm originally from south Louisiana - cajun country, sha! (snoballs and crawfish are my love language.)
I started playing tennis with my mom and dad at age 2! we had a tennis court in our backyard. I got super serious about the game when I was 8 years young, eventually becoming the #1 ranked player in Louisiana.
I was recruited by Texas State University, University of Memphis, Marshall University, McNeese University, University of Louisville, University of Wyoming, Louisiana State University, Marquette University, Murray State University, and the University of Kansas, where I ultimately accepted a full-ride scholarship to play Division I tennis!
at KU, I played #5 singles and #1 doubles. I was invited three years in a row to play in the USTA/ITA central region championships. my doubles partner and I were qualifiers for the Riviera ITA All-American Championships in 2010.
I transferred my senior year and played #2 singles and #2 doubles at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
after graduation, I received my USPTA certification and have 2 years of experience coaching junior players. I also have my CrossFit L2 certification.
who are my favorite players?
my two favorite players are jannik sinner on the men's side and emma navarro on the women's side. I admire and respect their good sportsmanship, their calm and poised demeanor on-court, their clean, beautiful strokes, and how quick they both are.
how you can work with me
because of the inclement and unpredictable colorado weather and a lack of indoor facilities in estes park, I am only able to offer tennis lessons and group clinics during the summer. we will play at the Stanley Park tennis courts (located at 1698 manford avenue), which are maintained by the Estes Valley Recreation and Parks District. they have four available courts, but they do not have lights. I do pay a court fee to use their courts for lessons, so that is factored into my pricing.
