How to Grow Your Network Marketing Business Fast (Without Posting on Social Media)

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and social media no longer existed? A lot of us might say good riddance (me included lol) but what if you are using social media to build a business or make an income? YIKES.


Here’s the truth: your social media is BORROWED SPACE! We have this idea that we “own” our Instagram followers... After all, we were the ones that busted our booties to grow our communities, but we do NOT own our social media audience. The platform does. That means that it can be taken away in an instant, whether the app shuts down or you get hacked or locked out of your account (and if we are being honest, the algorithm does whatever it wants 🤣 CAN I GET AN AMEN?!).


Another problem with building a business solely on social media (besides the fact that you don’t own your social media) is that social media is not technically an evergreen marketing strategy ("evergreen" meaning something that is always available; it’s a system you set up once that works for you without you)… Your content oftentimes dies a quick death ☠️


If you’ve ever spent hours on a reel only to have five people see it, that’s what I mean. Social media can be exhausting if you are constantly creating content and feeling like nothing is happening.


Another frustrating piece of the puzzle is that none of us can post a piece of content on social media and know with complete confidence that it will get seen by every single one of our followers. That just doesn’t exist! In fact, your content is seen by less than 10% of your audience (and an average engagement rate is 1.55%...less if you’re me 🤣🤣🤣)… That’s a lot of content creation for only a handful of people to see it.


The good news is that there are ways to build OFF social media in a way that is passive and automated 🤩

4 Essentials for Building Your Network Marketing Business OFF of Social Media:


1.) An Email List


Did you know that there are 4 BILLION daily email users?! This number is expected to climb to 4.6 billion by 2025. I think it’s safe to say that EMAIL IS NOT DEAD!


While it can feel like you’re playing Russian Roulette with your content on social media, with email, nothing is left to chance. You can be confident that 100% of the emails you send out will land in every single subscriber’s inbox (you also own 100% of your email list, meaning no one can take it away)!

Not to mention, your message is 5x more likely to be read when it’s shared as an email rather than a social media post!


Here are 3 steps to building your email list:


1️⃣ Create a juicy piece of freemium content (i.e. a free guide, PDF, course, training, template, etc.). that serves your ideal person.


2️⃣ Create a landing page to collect emails in exchange for the freemium content. This builds your email list (which you own) full of people who are the exact right fit for you! 📈


3️⃣ Nurture and sell using a pre-created evergreen email sequence. When someone gives you permission to email them, they are taking an action that basically says, “Please help me!!!” They truly want to hear from you because they believe you can help them to solve a problem, so use your email to do exactly that!


Utilizing email will not only increase trust with your ideal client, it has the ability to increase your income. Be proactive, protect your income, and algorithm-proof your business… start building your email list TODAY!


2.) A Personally-Branded Website


It is imperative that you have your own website (and I don’t mean the one your company gave you!). People don’t join companies; they join people, and the people who decide to buy from you or work with you are deciding to partner with you because they are connected to YOU, not because of the products you’re selling. You want to give people the opportunity to get to know you and how you can specifically help them, and your MLM company website is not designed to do that.


Having a personally-branded website is meant to separate you from your company to help you stand out. There are plenty of people within your company selling the same products and opportunity, so why should someone choose you? Allow your website to further distinguish you from the masses.


When it comes to creating your website, focus on 1) an "about me" page to introduce yourself and 2) a landing page that links to your ONE lead magnet (remember that we want to build our email list!). Having one call to action or one thing for people to do when they find your page keeps everything clear and streamlined for the prospect; if you give them too many options, they end up getting overwhelmed and taking no action.


I suggest using Canva to create your website. It is simple and free!


Pro tip: use your name as your website domain. www.healthandwellnesswithmichelle.com is not a good choice for a URL!


3.) An automated training system for your downline


When you're bringing new people into your organization, there are only so many hours in a day for 1:1 calls. Creating automated systems in your business allows your team, your income, etc. the ability to continue grow without being limited by your time, resources, and/or availability.


For example, create a video training series that drips out week by week through text, email, or a course hosting platform. I recommend using Loom to record your trainings, and if you are going to be sending out your trainings via text, Project Broadcast is a great tool (use code erindecuir for 500 additional credits). If you’d rather use email, I suggest Mailchimp, and if you’re going to use a course hosting platform, I recommend Podia.

4.) An automated marketing system


Consider creating an automated funnel to market your business. What can that look like?


Pinterest ➡️ Blog ➡️ Email


Did you know that Pinterest is NOT a social media platform? It is actually a search engine! What does this mean? People are usually going to Pinterest to answer a specific question they have (i.e. hormonal acne remedies, productivity tips, online business ideas, etc.). This means that, if you are creating content to answer those specific questions, the right people who need what you have to offer are much more likely to land on your content. Some great news for you: Pinterest gets better as time goes on! It is not uncommon to see pins pick up traction two years after the fact!


Here is a simple sequence you can create ONCE that will drive traffic for years to come:


1️⃣ Write a blog that answers a specific question your target audience has.


2️⃣ Create and post a few different pins on Pinterest all driving traffic to that one blog post.


3️⃣ Within the blog post, include an opt-in form that collects emails in exchange for a freebie (i.e. a free guide, PDF, course, training, template, etc.).


4️⃣ Automate a series of dripped emails that send out when someone opts in to grab the freebie. Within the email series, weave value + education in with selling your offer.
